Nagoya 2015, Day 2

It was a tight schedule on day 2! (um…so exhausted)

The first stop was Nagoya Castle.

I always love to pay a visit to those Japanese Castles that are nearby.
(For more information of the Japanese Castle, please click here)

The original Nagoya Castle was destroyed during World War II by U.S Army Air Forces. The Castle in the photo was the reconstructed one.

Saw a camphora tree with an outstanding tree form.

Seeing the crane recalled my memory on the visit to Himeji Castle which was under renovation at that time and I missed the chance to enter the castle keep…..

Golden Carps

Honmaru Goten. There were warning signs of “NO PHOTOGRAPHY” and “NO FLASH” displayed at the same time….I was so confused so didn’t take any photos inside the Honmaru Goten.

The workshop allowed visitors to take a closer look on the process of the reconstruction work.

The Meijō Park where the Nagoya Castle located in is also a famous place for viewing Sakura (Japanese Cherry Tree) Blossom.

Nagoya Sightseeing Route Bus. Didn’t plan to take this but saw it when I was searching the bus stop for my next stop. Since my One Day Pass (the Donichi Eco Kippu) which used on the Subway and City Bus was also applicable to the Sightseeing Route Bus, I took it without thinking.

Tokugawa Art Museum. No photography allowed so if you like The Tale of Genji, go and take a look!

Tokugawa Garden

The momiji in Nagoya was not as beautiful as I saw in Kyoto, wondering it is due to the unusual hot weather or something else….

Any purpose to place a stone here?

Weeping willow on lakeside

My landscape photography skill is too weak…Need more practice to strengthen it

The maple leave was still green here

Saw this when walking to the train station.

mouth watering….these beef seems so delicious

My third stop on Day 3- Osu Kannon Temple….

Flea market in front of the Osu Kannon Temple. Reading a poster on subway later and found that it is held on the 18th and 28th of every month.

Hida Beef, yummy!

Konjac noodles, often used as a diet food as they are low in calories but high in fibre.

At night, I went to Bic camera to buy some films as I found that the films I brought for this trip was not enough. Targeting on Fujifilm Provia 400X but already out of stock….

Was not very hungry but still need to have dinner so I was browsing in Nagoya Station and saw this restaurant.

Hitsumabushi, or Grilled Eel Rice which is very famous in Nagoya.

This grilled eel also remind me one of the famous Cantonese cuisine- The Barbecued Pork (Char Siu)

Ginkgos in Nagoya, not as common as in Kyoto. They planted more evergreen tree in Nagoya which make this golden leaves scene so rare.
